  • Purpose and Intended Uses:

    • Liability release forms designed for hauling someone else’s horse(s).

    How They Protect Horse Haulers:

    • The horse owner assumes all risks of loading, hauling and unloading their horse, including injury and death.
    • If the horse damages the hauler’s horse trailer or equipment, the horse owner agrees to pay for the damage.
    • The horse owner agrees to assume increased risk of injury to their horse if they don’t provide leg wraps and other protective gear.

  • Liability release forms are specific to the age of the guest.  Youth forms are designed for guests under 18, and adult forms are designed for guests 18 years and older.
  • The guest agrees not to sue the horse owner or the horse owner’s family members, employees, etc.
  • The guest assumes all risks of handling, riding and caring for horses.
  • The guest agrees to follow all barn rules and instructions.
  • Release forms include optional waivers for helmets and other safety attire.
  • The guest assumes specific risks associated with trail riding.
  • If anyone sues the horse owner or their family members or employees on the guest’s behalf, the guest agrees to pay for their legal defense.
  • The release forms include a special section for known dangerous behaviors.  For example, if a horse sometimes bucks, the horse owner would want to note that in the release.

Haul-in Liability Release Forms

Purpose and Intended Uses:

  • Liability release forms designed for guests bringing horses to someone else’s property, such as clients who haul their horses to a boarding facility to take lessons, or friends who go trail riding on a neighbor’s land.
